InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa was recently recognised with top accolades such as the Luxury Travel Guide’s Luxury Golf Resort of the Year, Haute Grandeur’s Global Best Golf Resort and the World Golf Award’s Fiji Best Golf Hotel.
The 2017 The Fiji International tournament is looking to be even grander better than previous years with the prize purse as FJD$2.3 million dollars (AUD$1.5 million) and will be held on a newly renovated golf course designed to perfection with Vijay Singh’s vision.
The Fiji International has a co-sanctioning agreement with the European Tour which is attracting some of the world’s best golfers. The field will be comprised of 132 players made up of PGA Tour of Australasia and The European Tour as well as Fiji. Since the inaugural tournament, the Fiji International has attracted international golfing professionals including 2014 champion Steven Jeffress; world number 20 and 2015 champion Matt Kuchar; world number 27 and 2016 champion American Brandt Snedeker; world number 23 and eight time winner on the PGA Tour, New Zealander Gareth Paddison and Fiji’s very own Vijay Singh.
