Community Care
Insider Community
Insider Community encourages groups to get involved in existing community projects and the past few months have seen groups donate laptops, educational materials, books, and collectively raise FJ$65,000.00 (AU$36,000.00) in an auction for disaster relief to villages and schools in the surrounding community. We recently founded the ‘School Community Fund’ and sought advice from the Ministry of Education on those schools most in need in our area.
- To date, we’ve been able to facilitate both monetary and in-kind donations to all of these institutions, a few of which are detailed below.
- Earlier in the year Tuva Primary School received a new fence from organisers and delegates of another Australian company’s conference held at the resort.
- The school was also fortunate to receive a cheque for FJ$3,300 last night, from organisers of the Tradelink conference being held at the resort.
- Today, a data projector and projector screen valued at more than FJ$4,000 were donated by a representative from Device Technologies, Sam Domoni to the Malomalo Primary School.
- Delegates of the Device Technologies conference were moved to contribute whilst on a ‘weekly school tour’ arranged by the resort earlier in the year.
- As a result of a community initiative during the Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange (BFTE) in May, NZ Natural Ice Cream in partnership with the resort organized a coffee and ice-cream stall, pledging FJD1,700 in proceeds to the local community. These funds enabled facility upgrades at Rahmatullah Khan Memorial School.
We would be happy to advise you of current projects that your group could contribute or participate in.
